Girls & Boys Dorm – The Beneficiaries The main beneficiaries of the program are the elementary graduates of the parish especially those living in baranggays where there are no high schools.
While 5 of them are student-volunteers who have finished high school education from the public high schools and have opted to stay in the dormitory primarily to prepare themselves academically for college education; to avail of the formation especially on psycho-social and spiritual empowerment and lastly to assist the sisters and the volunteers in tutoring the students. Two of the student-volunteers of school year 2006-07, are presently college scholars. One in Siena College, Quezon City and the other one in Western Palawan University in Puerto Princesa, Palawan. Statistics of the Student Beneficiaries since the start of the program:
For the school year 2005-06, the first 4 student-boarders proudly received from Angelicum College their high school diploma together with the high school graduates of Angelicum College, Quezon City. They were also the first college scholars of the dormitory. Two of them were scholars at Siena College, Quezon City, and the other two at the Immaculate Heart of Mary College, Parañaque.City, Metro Manila. Unfortunately of the first four scholars, three stopped schooling primarily due to problems of emotional immaturity as they had difficulty coping with the stress of living and studying away from their families. Due to this, the sisters and the volunteers are reinforcing psycho-social & emotional formation for the students. Two of them are now assisted by the sisters in the dormitory and they are serving in the dormitory as student volunteers before they continue their college education.
